OUR INSPIRATION
"MAKE ME AN ENERGY BAR THAT TASTES GOOD!"
Venessa Kelsick is a wife, a mom of two and an avid sportswoman.
Pillars Naturals Energy Bars were initially created for her husband Jeffery Kelsick, who himself is a national cyclist.
He was at the time, struggling to find a tasteful energy supplement that could sustain him on his endurance training rides, which normally lasted between three to as much as five hours.
He asked: “Can you make me an energy bar that TASTES good?” and he was not the only one in their family to share this sentiment.
Both of their children are also into sports – their daughter is a dedicated local and regional tennis player, as well as a cyclist; and their son plays football and cycles as well. They also needed energy boosts during long demanding days.
So Venessa set about to create the most scrumptious tasting products that would be made from simple natural wholesome ingredients that could provide her whole active family with just the right amounts of nutrition that they needed.
